Another look at RIM’s BlackBerry Z10 smartphone

Research in Motion (RIMM) is scheduled to announce the new BlackBerry 10 operating system and its latest flagship smartphone a press event on January 30th. The BlackBerry Z10 is rumored to come with 4.2-inch HD display, 1.5GHz dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel rear camera. The smartphone is also said to include 2GB of RAM, 4G LTE connectivity, NFC, 16GB of internal storage and an 1,800 mAh removable battery. Huawei unveils two new quad-core Android phablets

Huawei (002502) on Monday took the wraps off its colossal Ascend Mate and Ascend D2 smartphones at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Ascend Mate is the larger of the two and is equipped with a 6.1-inch 720p display, a 1.5GHz in-house quad-core processor, an 8-megapixel rear camera and a massive 4,050 mAh battery. The smaller Ascend D2 features a 5-inch 1080p display with a class leading pixel density of 443 pixels-per-inch. The smartphone is equipped with the same 1.5GHz quad-core processor as its larger sibling, and includes a 3,000 mAh battery and a 13-megapixel rear camera. The Ascend Mate also includes a “Magic Touch” feature, which provides enhanced screen responsiveness even when wearing gloves, and the Ascend D2


New purported BlackBerry Z10 specs emerge: 1.5GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 8MP camera

Another week, another batch of purported leaks for Research In Motion’s (RIMM) first BlackBerry 10-powered Z10. BBin claims to have most of the Z10′s final specs confirmed and it is shaping up to be a powerful device. Rumored specs for the Z10 include a TI OMAP 4470 1.5GHz dual-core processor (Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8960 for the U.S. and Canada), a 4.2-inch display (1,280 x 768 resolution), quad-band LTE, 2GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, a 2-megapixel front camera, a microSD card slot, and an 1,800 mAh removable battery. On the connectivity side, the Z10 is also rumored to have NFC, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band 802.11 a/g/n Wi-Fi, A-GPS, a Micro USB port and a Micro HDMI-out port.
